Peaky Blinders boss reveals major film details as show triumphs at NTAs

STEVEN Knight has given fans an update on when the Peaky Blinders film will arrive in cinemas. Speaking at the National Television Awards on Thursday night, Steven revealed that production on the Peaky Blinders film will start in Spring of next year. "I'm delivering the script for the film on Monday, so we'll start production in Spring," he said. "It should be in cinemas by the Spring 2024." Knight announced earlier this year that the script on the show was "close" to being done, with the upcoming movie taking place during the Second World War.

While previously, the writer had said that he was hoping to film the show within the next 18 months and that Cillian Murphy would reprise his role as Tommy Shelby.

It hasn't been entirely clear what the film will be about, but Knight has previously explained that the film will incorporate real-life stories from World War II that are tied to the titular group. "I've had this in mind for quite a while now, a story with the Peakys during the Second World War and I've picked up three true stories that I'm integrating into the film," Knight confirmed. "True, sort of secret and unknown stories about the Second World War, and I've involved the Peakys in there.
