Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Nathan Patterson and Calvin Bassey have been named on the bench for Rangers Europa League tie with Antwerp.The trio returned to training on Wednesday and were filmed apologising for attending a party in breach of government regulations in the early hours of Valentine's Day.Dapo Mebude, who is currently on loan at Queen of the South, and goalkeeper Brian Kinnear were also named as culprits but are youth team players.It's the second time Rangers players have been involved in such a breach after Jordan Jones and George Edmundson were banned for seven games and suspended by the club for a similar incident.A letter attributed to both Steven Gerrard and sporting director Ross Wilson appeared on the club website that explained the club had taken.
