Parents' 'torture' as six-year-old dies but her cause of death remains unknown

A six-year-old girl died following a long battle with an undiagnosed ‘profound neurodisability’, an inquest heard.Laaibah Ashraf, from Bradford, struggled with the underlying illness but sadly, despite numerous investigations, the cause of her death remains unknown.An inquest into her death, held at Manchester's Coroner's Court, heard that Laaibah was admitted to the Royal Blackburn Hospital in late April 2018.Paediatricians at the hospital consulted with doctors at the Royal Manchester Children’s hospital - where Laaibah had previously received treatment - and she was later transferred into their high dependency unit.Six-year-old Laaibah was given numerous antibiotics and fluid to counteract suspected septic shock as well as to improve her.
