A customer said "I'll be out by Christmas" after a phone shop worker found child abuse images on his mobile and reported him to police.
Steven Johnson was apprehended after he went Go Mobile in Nailsea, Somerset, to purchase a new device and asked that the data be transferred from his old phone.
But a shop worker who attempted the transfer found indecent images of children on the old device and contacted police, reports Bristol Live.
Johnson was arrested when he returned to the shop and said: "Don't worry, I'll be out before Christmas." A police investigation which ensued established he had performed a lewd act in front of a girl aged between three and nine and both possessed and distributed child abuse images.
