8st muscle-clad dog that mauled 10-year-old Jack Lis to death have been sentenced over the death of the youngster.Amy Salter, 28, has been sentenced to three years imprisonment and Brandon Hayden, 19, has been sentenced to a total of four years and six months detention in a young offenders' institution.The pair had pleaded guilty at Cardiff Crown Court last month.Salter had admitted to being a person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control which resulted in an injury causing the death of 10-year-old Jack.Hayden pleaded guilty to the court of being the owner of the dog that killed Jack as well as five offences of owning a dog dangerously out of control.Salter and Hayden had both appeared at court in May last month where they spoke only to confirm their names and to enter their pleas.The eight-stone pitbull dubbed 'Beast' was shot to death by police who had to fire seven rounds into the dog which attacked defenceless youngster Jack.Paramedics and police who arrived at the scene are said to have had to pull Beast off of Jack, who had succumbed to his injuries and tragically died at the scene.

It had been reported by Daily Star that the owners of the terrifying beast were trying to get rid of the canine amid fears that it would attack.

Hayden had written on Facebook in the hopes of ridding himself of the dog on a bulldog Facebook page claiming the pitbull-style animal was "great with people" but "unfortunately does not like other dogs".Neighbours had described the dog as an "American bulldog or pitbull" but it could also have been a cross-breed with the controversially band Pit Bull Terrier.Speaking at the time of Jack's death, his family said: "We are absolutely heartbroken.
