Owen Hargreaves says Manchester City actually have double reason to celebrate their transfer window activity. In the midst of a huge summer transfer saga, the Premier League champions missed out on signing Harry Kane as his current club Tottenham ultimately priced the England captain out of a move.
That came after City had already splashed out £100million on Kane's England teammate Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. Much has been made about City's 'failure' in that follow-up pursuit for Kane - especially with Chelsea going on to sign Romelu Lukaku for £97.5million and five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo completing his sensational return to Manchester United.
