Academy Awards show is scheduled to be hosted from a train station in downtown Los Angeles to allow for social distancing amid the pandemic, a report has said. According to Deadline, an email has confirmed that parts of the Oscars ceremony will be held in both the Union Station in downtown Los Angeles alongside its usual venue, the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Like every other awards show this year, the Oscars are being scaled back due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.And on Monday, the president of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts & Sciences, spelled out just how different the event will be.In a letter emailed tothe Academy's nearly 10,000 members, David Rubin confirmed that only presenters and nominees with a plus one will be present in person for the telecast, THR.com reported.

Right before nominations were announced this morning Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences President David Rubin confirmed Deadline’s exclusive from last week that the upcoming 93rd Annual Academy Awards show would be coming from both the vast Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles as well as their usual haunt, the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Also seemingly coming to fruition,  as insiders previously told Deadline’s Mike Fleming, is a plan to have presenters and nominees – and their guests –  attending in person at Union Station where social distancing would be easier to enforce due to the size of the facility.
