The One Show have voted Only Fools and Horses as their most loved BBC programme, closely followed by Doctor Who and Strictly Come Dancing. The comedy series followed Del Boy, played by Sir David Jason, and his brother Rodney Trotter as they navigate life in an attempt to get rich quick and was a huge hit from its release in the early eighties, partly due to its very quotable script and hilarious jokes. It ran for seven series until 1991 and has been well loved ever since.
Sir David Jason told The One Show: ““It was such a great show to be a part of and I am pleased it has given so many laughs and continues to do so to this day.”“From the brilliant writing of John Sullivan all the way down to the entire team in front of and behind the camera, let’s just say luvvly jubbly.”The BBC is celebrating its centenary this year and to mark the momentous occasion The One Show decided to ask its viewers to vote on their favourite shows from the past 100 years.Doctor Who, which first aired in 1963, pulled in second place.
