Tyson Fury’s retirement claim, after the Gypsy King announced he would hang up his gloves following victory over Dillian Whyte.Fury saw off fellow Brit Whyte after a brutal knockout in the sixth round at Wembley Stadium last month.

Prior to the fight, the WBC heavyweight champion had stated that he would call time on his career once he had fought the Body Snatcher in London.Post-bout, Fury once again reiterated his plans to retire, claiming ‘there is nothing more to do’ for him in the ring.

But Usyk, who holds the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO straps after beating Anthony Joshua is having none of it - telling BlockAsset: “I don’t believe him!” The Ukrainian will reignite his rivalry with Joshua this summer in a rematch, after his victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last year.

Fury was expected to take on the winner of the Usyk-Joshua bout at some point in 2022 for a show-stopping heavyweight unificiation clash.
