Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reassured "fantastic" Donny van de Beek that he will be given more first-team minutes in Manchester United's upcoming fixtures.

Van de Beek moved from Ajax to Old Trafford for an initial fee of £35million in the summer window. The 23-year-old came off the bench to score on his debut for the Red Devils - the 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace - but is yet to be handed a start in the Premier League.

Van de Beek has played just 61 league minutes across four substitute appearances, while his two starts have been limited to the Carabao Cup.

But Solskjaer insisted minutes are imminent for the Netherlands international as he lauded the midfielder after the 4-1 win over Newcastle. "He'll get his game time.
