Manchester United's season is in danger of fizzling out after they suffered their third defeat in just eight days. After losses against AS Roma and Leicester City, Liverpool came to Old Trafford and exposed United’s defensive deficiencies in their 4-2 win.
The hosts took the lead through Bruno Fernandes, before their set-piece struggles returned and allowed Liverpool back into the game.
First, Diogo Jota turned home following a corner, before Roberto Firmino completed the first-half turnaround with a header from a Trent Alexander-Arnold free kick.
The goals were the 13 th and 14 th that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s charges have conceded from set-pieces, behind only Leeds United in the entire top flight.
