Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.
Manchester United may be forced to complete the season without the services of Odion Ighalo. The Nigeria international has impressed since joining on a short-term loan in January and was set to play a pivotal part in United’s quest to secure Champions League football before the enforced break.
Although the extension of the season won’t be an issue for the majority of their squad in terms of contracts, but it is likely that Shanghai Shenhua won’t allow their striker to stay any longer than is already agreed.
The 30-year-old is under contract until December 2022, leaving United at risk of having to end the season without a back-up to Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.
