THE National Television Awards are the most glittering night of the telly calendar, with the biggest names flocking to celebrate.
But this year bosses are on tenterhooks behind the scenes amid fears over the response to Queuegate duo Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
The night is normally a love-in among showbiz stars, but chiefs feel it will now act as a litmus test of whether the pair — who are nominated for Best Daytime Show with This Morning — have weathered the storm caused when they avoided queueing to visit the Queen lying in state last month.
Tensions have been heightened further because they are up against fellow ITV show Loose Women, including panellist Dame Kelly Holmes, who did queue — for 11 hours — to see Her Majesty’s coffin at Westminster Hall.
