Nottingham Forest star Steve Cook has paid tribute to the paramedics who were in attendance at his side's trip to Bournemouth for saving his father's life.Cook joined Forest in the January transfer window and has been an integral part of their push for promotion from the Championship.

The Midlands side travelled to the Vitality Stadium for what many viewed as a virtual promotion play-off between the two sides.The Englishman started in central defence for Steve Cooper's men, having become a key player under the Welshman.

He had actually started the season at Bournemouth, but brought an end to an 11-year association with the South Coast club to move to the City Ground.But ahead of the huge clash between Forest and the Cherries, Cook's family was hit by a tragic event.

The defender revealed after the game that his father had suffered a cardiac arrest just before kick-off.He paid tribute to the paramedic team who fought successfully to bring his dad back to life as he congratulated Bournemouth on securing promotion.
