As excited fans settled in to watch the love story between Connell Waldron and Marianne Sheridan unfold, they were left either cringing behind clasped hands in a room with their parents, or 'drooling' in anticipation as they watched the talented actors expose themselves in full-frontal nude scenes.
The fifth episode of the stunning series saw Connell - played by Paul Mescal, 24,- navigate his new life in Trinity College Dublin where he meets his former flame Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones), 21, again for the first time after their secret whirlwind romance.
