Nicola Sturgeon doubles down on Celtic vs Rangers warning as she makes 'unnecessary death' plea

Nicola Sturgeon has once again used her daily Covid briefing to warn fans that flouting rules to watch Celtic play Rangers on Saturday will lead to people dying "unnecessarily".

The message comes 24 hours after she called on Sky to make a "small but important contribution" and offer the game free of charge to the nation.

The First Minister has also previously pleaded with people to follow guidance as it emerged some fans had planned to travel to England to watch the Scottish Premiership powderkeg in areas where measures are less strict.

And she went further today when she starkly admitted that a failure to take the coronavirus rules that her government put in place seriously could lead to more deaths.
