New walkway on the way for Forth Viaduct in £2.7million makeover

Network Rail will begin a major improvement project on the Forth Viaduct in Stirling in the new year.The £2.7m investment will repair and repaint the structure, while installing a new walkway, with work taking place from January 10 until September 22, 2022.Drivers are being warned to plan ahead for possible delays as Lovers Walk, which runs parallel to the river, will be closed for the duration of the project and a traffic management system will be in place on Causewayhead Road.A diversion route will be in place via Forth Street, Shore Road, Forth Place, Goosecroft Road, Cowane Street and Union Street.Pedestrians/cyclists will continue to have access through Lovers Walk.Ahead of the project beginning, Network Rail has organised an online
