Ralf Rangnick has named little-known German coach Helmut Gross and world-renowned managers Arrigo Sacchi and Valeriy Lobanovskyi as the three biggest influences on his own coaching career.
Rangnick was officially presented as the new Manchester United interim manager on Friday morning and will take charge of the team for the first time against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
He returns to England - having spent time at the University of Sussex in his youth and playing for non-league side Southwick - with a reputation as one of the most influential coaches of the modern game, with the likes of Jurgen Klopp, Julian Naglesmann and Thomas Tuchel all learning from his methods.
