Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has revealed his “fights” with UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin to try and push through a new-look Champions League.
Europe’s biggest clubs are trying to introduce a new 36 team Swiss model format by 2024 which would see more games, bigger prize money and some teams qualifying based on their historical achievements.
UEFA were due to hold an ExCo meeting on Friday but that has now been postponed and potentially put back by two weeks to formally agree the new-look competition.
They are trying to reach agreement within the next two weeks but it has come amid a backdrop of rows with UEFA who have tried to retain control over European football’s elite club competition.
