New Lanarkshire hub offers round-the-clock support for young people and foster carers

iOS - Android In 2019, 16,310 children in Scotland were looked after or on the child protection register, 850 of which were from the North Lanarkshire region.

The numbers are expected to have increased dramatically since March 2020, with more children and young people than ever in North Lanarkshire are in need of a safe, supportive home and the hub will act as an additional base for the charity’s Intensive Fostering Service (IFS).Indeed foster carer enquiries to Kibble, which has charity status, have increased by 225 per cent since the coronavirus pandemic began.Launched in 2004, IFS provides homes for children and young people from age five who are unable to live with their birth families.
