Nearly two years after the project was first announced, there’s an update on Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain‘s upcoming movie The Division!

Red Notice director Rawson Marshall Thurber is set to direct Netflix’s feature adaptation of The Division, which is based on the popular video game, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain on board to star. Thurber comes on for David Leitch, who had to step down as director due to scheduling conflicts that included his action pic Bullet Train, that he is currently filming. Leitch will remain on as a producer. Netflix acquired the film rights to the game after the package was put on the market back in the summer 2019 following a heated bidding war for the property.

HBO really wants you to look forward to their content this year. To that end, the network recently dropped a Trailer for their impending 2021 shows. There’s a bunch of interesting ones, but chief among them is a miniseries remake of the Ingmar Bergman classic Scenes From a Marriage. Much like the Swedish original aired as several episodes on television, so too will this one. Here, Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac will be the couple at the center of the event series. Those two obviously have worked together before, notably in A Most Violent Year, so watching them duke it out again is going to be a real treat.

Typically, people would be a bit upset if they found out that Hollywood had decided to remake Ingmar Bergman’s 1972 drama series/film, “Scenes from a Marriage.” But when you find out that HBO is the network behind the new series and it’s set to star Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain, it’s hard to be cynical about this one whatsoever. Frankly, we’re just dying to see it.
