SPFL chief Neil Doncaster insists the governing body were left with no choice but to suspend Scottish football due to the "unprecedented" coronavirus situation.
The league chiefs and the SFA announced on Thursday night that this weekend's games would go ahead as planned, with the Scottish government decree banning crowds of over 500 people not coming into force until Monday.
On Friday morning though it was confirmed that all football has been suspended indefinitely, including this weekend's Rangers vs Celtic clash.
