Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Nathan Patterson signs new Rangers contract as Steven Gerrard outlines key time frame for rising Ibrox star

Nathan Patterson has signed a new long-term contract at the club. The 19-year-old has penned fresh terms to stay at Ibrox until at least the summer of 2024.

Patterson has proven to be a capable back-up for captain James Tavernier at right-back when called upon this season, making four appearances including a start in a Europa League away win at Lech Poznan last month.

The Scotland Under-21 international made his senior debut a year ago and manager Steven Gerrard has been pleased with his development.

He told the club's website : "We have monitored Nathan’s progress closely over the past 18 months. His attitude is second to none, and I am particularly pleased with his desire to learn from his team-mates especially our captain, James.
