Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam fears Nathan Patterson has missed out on a "career changing" moment after the injury blow to James Tavernier.Right-back Patterson has been removed from the squad and is now self-isolating after Covid rule breaches.The 19-year-old, who penned a new five-year-deal earlier in the season, faces an uncertain future at Ibrox and an SFA investigation.The starlet had been an understudy to Tavernier so far this season, and with the skipper facing a spell on the sidelines after a knock against Royal Antwerp in the Europa League, Adam believes it's a wasted chance for Patterson.Adam told the PLZ Football Show that the breach of guidelines has cost the defender a chance to break into Steven Gerrard's first-team plans.
