Manuel Masalva is currently in a medically induced coma after contracting a bacterial infection while traveling.

On Thursday (April 3), Manuel‘s friend, Mario Morán, revealed in a TikTok that the 43-year-old actor is “fighting for his life” after falling victim to a “very aggressive virus” while on vacation in an undisclosed location. “As of today, his situation remains delicate,” Mario said in Spanish in the video. Mario, who described Manuel as “one of [his] best friends,” urged people to donate to Manuel‘s GoFundMe page to help pay for his treatment. While Manuel‘s exact diagnosis has not been publicly shared, an update says that doctors were able to identify the bacteria, and he is currently “in critical condition” while being treated with antibiotics. “We’re waiting for him to begin to improve.
