Murdoch MacLennan slams Rangers for cinch snub as SPFL chief writes to clubs over sponsorship sticking point

Rangers refused to show the cinch logo on their shirts or stadium. The online car dealer has agreed an £8million deal to sponsor all four divisions, including the Scottish Premiership.

However, Rangers did not display the logo on their shirt sleeves or around Ibrox for their opening day win over Livingston. Chairman Douglas Park owns a car dealership and the club are standing firm in the belief that SPFL rules to not require them to display the branding.

MacLennan has written to the other member clubs to express his disappointment over the stance adopted by Rangers. He wrote: "Dear all.
