Mum's horror as toddler escapes nursery and crosses busy road in less than a minute

mum was left in 'shock' after finding out her two-year-old son had escaped from nursery and crossed a busy road. Shannan Lees, 24, from Denton, received the distressing call on September 16 after her son Harvey had been picked up by a concerned woman who spotted him walking down the street alone.

The kind stranger immediately stopped her car after spotting the youngster cross Tame Street and continue down Quebec Street and alerted the police. Since the incident, the parent has found it difficult to find another place for her youngster elsewhere and says she will 'struggle to leave her son with anyone else' after the distressing ordeal.In a response, the nursery said that from their investigations, it transpired the toddler had been 'missing for less than a minute' and are working with Ofsted and the local authorities as they continue looking into what happened.

The mum said: "I just want to make people aware of what happened. I just can't believe it. I got called after half four last Friday, telling me he had escaped from the nursery and had been found by someone."I was shouting down the phone, I was just in shock.
