Simon Cowell
Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

He is perhaps best known for creating, writing and acting in the British television series The Office (2001–2003). He has won seven BAFTA Awards, five British Comedy Awards, two Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and the Rose d'Or twice (2006 and 2019), as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. In 2007, he was placed at No. 11 on Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups and at No. 3 on the updated 2010 list. In 2010, he was named on the Time 100 list of the world's most influential people.

MPs are set to debate the Mirror’s Ban Puppy Imports campaign as our fight hits Parliament. Our call to raise the import age of pups to six months will be scrutinized by the House on Monday in a massive boost to dog welfare.

The debate is thanks to thousands of Mirror readers who signed an e-petition, which hit its target of 100,000 signatures in just six weeks after being launched in June last year.

It is also being backed by dozens of high-profile celebrities and influencers including Ricky Gervais, Peter Egan, Claire Balding, Deborah Meaden, Simon Cowell, Olly Murs, Olivia Newton-John, Davina McCall, Dermot O'Leary, Ellie Goulding, Shirley Ballas, Olivia Bowen, Olivia Attwood, Saffron Barker, and Eyal Booker.
