In recent years we’ve had an inspiring wave of films focusing on the realities of being a teenage girl. Filmmakers are moving away from slightly camp teen comedies like Bring it On and Mean Girls and giving us flicks like Ladybird, Booksmart and Eighth Grade.
Netflix has now waded into the fray with Moxie, a bright and fun coming-of-age film that tackles the difficult subjects of being a teen girl, also directed by Mean Girls alum Amy Poehler.
Moxie follows the story of Vivian who is forced to re-evaluate the behaviour of her fellow students following the arrival of new student Lucy who stands up against the misogynistic attitudes running rampant.
