Mountain Rescue in dramatic operation as blizzard batters Saddleworth moor

A woman was taken to hospital after slipping, falling and injuring her leg during heavy snowfall in Saddleworth. Rescue workers dragged the casualty via sledge over moorland in the hills above Denshaw.

Mountain rescue teams were called out to a series of incidents during a snow-hit Sunday (November 28). READ MORE: I was told this area was filled with men harassing women on the street - this is what I found out for myself In Rochdale, more than 10 members of Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue were called out to a reservoir after a man slipped and fell.

They were asked to assist by North West Ambulance Service at around 12.30pm. He was later transported to hospital from Naden Higher Reservoir in Whitworth.
