A further 48 branches Lloyds Bank and Halifax branches are set to be closed. Thousands of customers will miss out on access to vital services and cash, Unite Union have said, with 41 Lloyds Bank and seven Halifax branches set to close, which could result in 178 job losses.
The retail director for Lloyds Banking Grouping, Vim Maru, said: “Like many other businesses, we’ve seen people using our branches less frequently in recent years, and this decline is continuing. “Our branches remain a fundamental part of how we serve our customers but we need to ensure the size of our branch network reflects the number of customers wanting to use them.” READ MORE: Sainsbury's 0p 'glitch' sees kitchen appliances being listed for free Unite said it
