More ambition needed on public transport and climate, says Green hopeful for Greater Manchester mayor

Melanie Horrocks has placed both issues at the heart of her campaign as she bids to unseat Labour’s Andy Burnham in the upcoming elections.

By integrating walking and cycling with buses and trams, the qualified solicitor believes Greater Manchester could achieve its ambitions of being carbon neutral by 2038 faster.

But the vision for public transport laid out by the incumbent mayor, including bringing buses back under control, has been described as ‘limiting’ by the Green hopeful.
