Tamara Kamal , above, credits her apprenticeship training with giving her skills to get through the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 23-year-old from Edinburgh, who works at the Royal Infirmary said: “Thankfully my training has helped me during these difficult times and I’ve had the full support of my team. “They’ve always pushed me in the right direction throughout my apprenticeship – I owe it all to them.” Now Tamara has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards, Modern Apprentice at SQCF Level 6 or above category.

Fellow finalist Sam Kirkpatrick has engineered a dream career after completing his Modern Apprenticeship with aerospace company Leonardo.
