Mock The Week ‘to be saved’ by rival channel after BBC axe it after 17 years

FANS of Mock The Week were understandably gutted when BBC2 this week announced it was axing the show after 17 years. But there’s a glimmer of hope.

I can reveal broadcaster Dave may come to the rescue with an offer to buy the comedy favourite from the Beeb. Its creators, Angst Productions, have already opened talks for a new deal on the panel show, which is hosted by Dara O Briain.

Mock The Week first aired in 2005 with Dara at the helm and has notched up more than 200 episodes. It featured regular appearances by Hugh Dennis plus other stand-ups.
