This is backed by a story that he or she has recently changed their phone or phone number."It's a despicable act, which takes advantage of a person's willingness to help out loved ones who are perhaps away from home."WhatsApp experts WABetaInfo say that the scam has become more common as "scammers may message people in a drastic moment of psychological or sentimental frailty", and advise that you should never share private information with unknown contacts.If you encounter a similar scam, there are a few steps you can take, including blocking the person sending the message and setting your profile information to private.
