Michael van Gerwen rounded off a sensational night in the Premier League by hilariously trolling Wayne Mardle live on TV. MVG was back to his brilliant best in Exeter as he picked up his first knockout win of the campaign.
The Green Machine played well from the outset, demolishing reigning champion Jonny Clayton 6-1 with a 102.36 average in his first match of the night.
He followed that up with a 6-2 victory over Michael Smith to set up a final with his old foe Peter Wright. Van Gerwen didn't drop a single leg against Snakebite as he closed out a 6-0 whitewash to pick up a deserved victory on night four.
Mardle was full of praise for MVG after the match - and the Dutchman lapped it up. As the Sky Sports pundit was giving his verdict, the three-time champion of the world stood off-camera trying to make him laugh on live TV. "Michael is a winner and he loves winning," Mardle said."Anything else is nowhere near what he wants to achieve.
