Michael Smith shushes crowd after big finish to win Dutch Darts Championship title

finally won a Premier League night in Newcastle on Thursday, reached the final of the Dutch Darts Championship in Zwolle by seeing off Danny Jansen, Damon Heta, Mervyn King and Andrew Gilding.

In the final, he met home favourite Danny Noppert and was regularly booed during visits. The final went all the way to a last-leg decider, but Bully Boy held his nerve to take out 104 to win 8-7 and bank the £25,000 prize.

After nailing the winning double, Smith celebrated by cupping his ears and shushing the Dutch crowd, which was well received by his wife, Dagmara, who tweeted: “What a way to silence the crowd, well done babe @Michael180Smith @OfficialPDC #DutchDartsChampion."Smith, whose last European Tour win was the 2017 Gibraltar Darts Trophy, said: “It's been five years and I've finally got number five on the European Tour.

It caps off a really good week, with [winning in] the Premier League, and coming here I played some really good stuff.“I managed to hold my nerve in the end with that 104 so I'm over the moon.
