Formula One legend Michael Schumacher considered quitting after the death of Ayrton Senna. Senna died after crashing at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, a race that Schumacher won on his way to the championship that year.
But former Benetton boss Flavio Briatore has now admitted that the German driver was so affected by the death, he almost ended his incredible career before it had really got going. "Schumacher was the Pavarotti of driving a car," Briatore said."He changed after the death of Ayrton Senna.
He seriously considered whether to stop motor racing."Fortunately for us all, he stuck with it. Damon Hill was not a championship driver.
