Michael B. Jordan has joined the producing team of the upcoming DC Comics movie Static Shock!
The 33-year-old actor, who is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his work as Erik Killmonger in Black Panther, does not appear to be attached to star in the film.
Static Shock follows “Virgil Hawkins, a teenager who transforms into a superhero who gains electromagnetic powers after being exposed to strange gas,” according to THR. Michael will produce the project via Outlier Society, his production company at Warner Bros.
He joins Reginald Hudlin on the producing team. In a statement, Michael said, “I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around black superheroes; our community deserves that.
