Met Office say snow coming this week as giant 'weather bomb' brings flood warnings

Patches of the white stuff will also emerge alongside heavy rain in the Highlands on Saturday.New forecasts from the Met Office meanwhile state that northern areas will be hit by snowfall and overnight frost on Friday, while the south will be hit with wind and rain.The Met Office outlook for Thursday 3 February to Saturday 5 February reads: "Wind and rain will spread south on Thursday, reaching the southeast in the evening. "Cold, with wintry showers following, snow in the north and some overnight frost.

Turning milder Saturday."A raft of weather warnings also remain in place mainly along the east coast of England, with 24 flood alerts and two flood warnings put in place by the Environment Agency.Residents in isolated low lying properties along the tidal River Waveney located on the boundary between Suffolk and Norfolk have been told to expect some flooding on riverside roads and footpaths, with river levels expected to peak overnight.Properties along the tidal River Yare in Cantley, Brundall and Reedham may also be affected by high tidal water, with an update on the situation expected at 11pm on Wednesday.Official advice from Gov.uk says that people in areas affected by flood alerts should "prepare a bag that includes medicines and insurance documents", and ensure they are regularly checking flood warnings.More severe flood warnings also ask residents to move important belongings upstairs or to safety, and take measures to do the same for vulnerable family.
