Meghan Markle has tried to reach out to their father. Good Morning Britain welcomed Meghan's "estranged" half sister Samantha, 57, onto the show and she didn't agree with claims that Meghan is attempting to mend the rift with her father, Thomas Markle. The 77-year-old was rushed to hospital last week after suffering a major stroke and although he is now recovering, he needs to learn how to talk again.
Presenter's Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins asked Samantha whether they have heard from Meghan, to which she responded: "We have not."Samantha added: "I've heard rumours that she was trying to reach out to my dads camp but my brother and I are my dads camp and his phone number has never changed, his address has never changed.
So those rumours are not true, she has not reached out."Despite Thomas' stroke leaving him unable to talk, Samantha confirmed "his language comprehension is perfect", meaning Meghan could "text him, contact him and he could text back."Samantha revealed it could take her father around six months to one year to speak again, but said: "All things considered - after two heart attacks, a pandemic and this, he is rebounding remarkably well."She confirmed to the GMB presenters that she hasn't spoken to Meghan since 2016 and referred to her father's photo scandal - where he allegedly posed for a series of paparazzi photos which showed him preparing himself for Meghan and Harry's wedding - as "just rumours.""The rumours about a photo scandal were just rumours and there was a set up," she claimed.Samantha added: "My father wanted the world to see him as he was in his real life because he'd been so horribly photographed by predatory photographers trying to catch him at his worst moments."She went on to claim.
