Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Meghan Markle and son Archie spoke with the Queen ahead of Prince Philip's funeral, a royal source has claimed. The Duchess of Sussex did not travel to the service, held at Windsor Castle on Saturday, because she is heavily pregnant.
But it has been reported the former actress made sure to get in touch with husband Prince Harry and the monarch beforehand. The Duke of Sussex has now returned home to California to be with Meghan and little Archie after a stint in Britain.
It has been claimed that Harry jetted off without resolving a royal row involving his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William. According to an insider quoted by PEOPLE, Meghan spoke to her spouse "every day" while he was away, including before the funeral.
