Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are "monetising" the Royal Family with their tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview, a Palace expert has claimed.

Biographer Robert Jobson said the only reason for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to agree to the TV appearance - due to be broadcast on March 7 - is to "boost their brand".

Speaking on Friday's True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat weekly programme Mr Jobson said the pair appear to be doing all they can to be "highly visible in America".

The writer, who co-penned the best-selling biography Diana: Closely Guarded Secret, added they need "as much attention as possible" as they build their lives outside The Firm.
