Scots vegans will be able to get their hands on McDonald’s first ever plant based burger from today. The fast food giant is trialing its McPlant burger at 21 branches up and down Scotland - before it is eventually rolled out nationwide in January next year.Bosses at the chain say that the vegan patty - which is produced by Beyond Meat - tastes exactly like the regular ones that have become a staple of Scottish high streets for decades.The burger is also stacked with vegan cheese, a vegan sauce and the usual dressing of salad, with all of the components sitting inside a sesame bun.It has been given the vegan approval from the vegetarian society.
