Large parts of the North of England are headed towards Tier 3 lockdown, Matt Hancock has confirmed. Speaking in the House of Commons, the Health Secretary updated MPs on the places in the UK which have already gone into thr highest level of restrictions - Liverpool and Lancashire.
He also spoke about the row between Whitehall and Andy Burnham on changes in Manchester. But Mr Hancock also confirmed a broader list of places where cases are on the rise - and talks about plunging them into Tier 3 have begun.
