Despite having an incredible transfer window, Manchester United failed to sign a holding midfielder which many thought would be the answer to all of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s problems.
Going off the back of the Leicester result, there’s more than just that particular position that will alert the manager. In previous years, United managers have not been fully backed when it’s come to transfers, but not Solskjaer.
The Norwegian has spent around £160m on his defence alone. When discussing United’s problems, the conversation is often spearheaded by the lack of a recognised defensive midfielder and, yes, the squad is lacking in that area.
