Ryan Fraser appeared to be fouled by Blues keeper Ederson as he looked to close down the ball, with the score at just 2-0 minutes before the half-time interval.
United fans have also questioned some of Atkinson's decisions against their side this season too, with fouls by both Vladimir Coufal and Kurt Zouma on Cristiano Ronaldo not given in the Reds 2-1 win against West Ham back in September.
