Manchester's notorious 'substantial slice' pizza joint launches bake-at-home service

Don't miss a thing that's happening in and around Bury by signing up to the free MyBury newsletterOne of Manchester's leading pizza joints has launched a new bake-at-home offering to be sold in shops across Greater Manchester.The new pizza scheme comes from Nell's, which gained nationwide notoriety after its giant pizza slices, cut from its 22-inch pies, were labelled 'not substantial' by police when the tier system came into place.Nell's has been operating out of the kitchens at both Common in the Northern Quarter and The Beagle in Chorlton for the past year.The bake-at-home pies will be significantly smaller than the 22-inch giants the restaurants are famed for, but made with the same ingredients.They are based on 'Grandma Pies', a style.
