Manchester Airports Group and Ryanair launch legal action over travel 'traffic light' system

The system, made up of a red, amber and green list, came into force from May 17 as England's ban on non-essential was lifted.

Just 12 countries and territories, including Portugal, featured on the green list last month, meaning anyone who travelled to those countries would not have to quarantine when they returned.

But following the first review of the lists on June 3, Portugal was moved from the green list to the amber list, catching many holidaymakers by surprise and leaving thousands of tourists scrambling to get home
