A man who lost his mum, dad and brother to Covid within one week has spoke of the online abuse he has suffered after talking about his experience with the virus online.
Francis Goncalves said his brother, Shaul, 40, father, Basil, 73, and mother Charmagne, 65, started experiencing symptoms after having a family meal together on the weekend of July 10, 2021.
Within just two weeks of falling ill, all three tragically passed away, Wales Online reports. The three family members were laid to rest next to one another at a Covid cemetery in Portugal, where they stayed in Sao Joao.
Francis said his family did not get their coronavirus vaccines because they had been frightened by anti-vaccination "misinformation".The 43-year-old said life "hadn't been easy" since losing his family and felt the news of Boris Johnson's party was "disrespectful to everyone".He also spoke about the overwhelming abuse he endured from anti-vaxxer activists which only added to his ordeal.Speaking about how he's coped with his grief, Francis said: "It's not just one birthday you miss, it's all the birthdays, the Father's Days, the Mother's Days, all those celebrations and the phone calls."Now that's all gone and there's no way you can substitute it.
